VACANCIES FOR OIL & GAS / PETROCHEMICAL / FERTILIZER INDUSTRY

We have an urgent requirement for the following positions for the QAFCO Hybrid Project in Qatar.

2. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Age Requirement: Less than 50 years
• Qualification: Diploma (3 years)
• Experience: Minimum 8 years maintenance experience in fertilizer plant, petrochemical or Oil & Gas.
• Candidates should be able to communicate in English.

Potential candidates should have a Technical Diploma in the respective trade (10 years School + 3 years Diploma), with 07 years relevant and hands-on experience in the respective trade, in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION

A. Mechanical Technician – 15 Positions

Qualification:

• Diploma in Mechanical Technical Discipline.
• Technical Diploma in respective trade (10 years School + 3 years Diploma).
• 07 years relevant and hands-on experience in respective trade, in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry.

Job Summary and Purpose:

• Good HSEQ record in his past working.
• Knowledge about Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).
• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting activities in continuous operation plants.
• Installation, removal and fixing back of pumps and blowers, maintenance of all types of valves, vessels, columns, exchangers, pipes, and other static equipment.
• Experience in fan blade angle measurement work.
• Overhauling experience of gear box.
• Experience of gear box oil top up and replacement activities.
• Carry out maintenance activity independently as necessary.
• Handle different types of tools used for maintenance activities and work at high elevation with adequate safety protective equipment.
• Maintenance of different types of pumps, including single and multi-stage centrifugal pumps and reciprocating pumps.
• Knowledge of different parts of pumps, bearings, seals and couplings.
• Hands-on experience of alignment activities – rim and face/lesser alignment.
• Thorough understanding of isometrics and mechanical drawings.
• Maintenance of different types of compressors, including reciprocating, centrifugal and screw compressors.
• General inspection and replacement procedure of V-pulley.
• Inspection and adjustment of V-belts.
• Cleaning and replacement of lube oil filter.
• Experience in static equipment maintenance, including heat exchangers, gasket replacement, hydro testing, tube replacement, valves, flanges, vessels and columns.
• Cleaning, preserving and maintaining removed equipment parts.
• Read, understand, and execute jobs as per standard operating procedure/work instruction.

B. Rotating Technician Lead – 2 Positions

Qualification:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Oversee, coordinate, and execute installation, maintenance, overhauls, and troubleshooting of heavy industrial rotating machinery, such as pumps, compressors, steam/gas turbines, gearboxes, and mechanical seals in oil & gas, petrochemicals, and fertilizer plants.
• Responsible for overhaul, repair, inspection, assembly, testing, and maintenance of rotating equipment within petrochemical plants.
• Support plant reliability and operational efficiency through maintenance activities on pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, blowers, motors, agitators, and associated equipment.
• Lead work groups for field maintenance activities and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
• Ensure maintenance work is executed in accordance with OEM recommendations, engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Perform fault diagnosis, precision measurements, equipment refurbishment, field balancing, bearing replacement, mechanical seal installation, alignment verification, and performance testing.

C. Electrical Technician – 25 Positions

Qualification:

• Diploma in Electrical Technical Discipline.
• Technical Diploma in respective trade (10 years School + 3 years Diploma).
• 07 years relevant and hands-on experience in respective trade, in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry.

Job Summary and Purpose:

• Carry out maintenance and modification work related to electrical equipment, including:
  • HV/MV/LV power and distribution transformers.
  • HV/MV/LV switchboards and switchgears.
  • HV/MV/LV cables and terminations.
  • MV/LV MCCs.
  • MV/LV motors.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS).
  • Lighting.
  • Cathodic Protection (CP) Systems.
  • Hoists.
  • Electrical systems of flares.
• Familiarity with electrical control and protection systems, including PLCs, motor protection relays and feeder protection relays.
• Carry out basic repairs of electrical equipment and power circuits, and contribute to troubleshooting complex and major electrical problems or breakdowns.
• Read and interpret machine sketches, single-line diagrams, complex control schematics and diagnostic flow charts.
• Use related tools and instruments for maintenance activities.
• Use and maintain testing and calibration instruments, including multimeters and insulation testers (Megger).
• Be familiar with hazardous chemicals/materials used in the Oil & Gas industries and safe installation/maintenance activities.
• Awareness of safety and environmental aspects in Oil & Gas plants.
• Knowledge of work permit systems in large-scale industries.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (ANSI and BS EN).
• Knowledge of hazardous area classification, Zone/Class/Division.
• Knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO).

D. Electrical Supervisor – 1 Position

Qualification:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution networks.
• Experience in maintenance of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems and generators.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective maintenance.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments such as meggers, multimeters, earth testers and relay test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of protective relays, motor protection systems and electrical safety standards.
• Guide and supervise the team carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair and installation activities for electrical systems and equipment within petrochemical facilities.
• Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical assets and power distribution networks.
• Support preventive, predictive, corrective and shutdown maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with company standards and electrical safety requirements.
