Vacancies: 20 | Salary: QR 7,500 – 8,000 / month (Fixed) | Selection: Face-to-Face Interview Grade: ST/5 | Department: MSD | Location: Site | Reports to: Construction Manager / Welding Engineer OverviewResponsible for site welding execution, identifying welding machine requirements at site, welder deployment, and monitoring welder performance. Primary Responsibilities- Report to Welding Engineer / Construction Manager.
- Lead and control welding foremens and welders engaged in all welding process-related activities.
- Optimize resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of works; set and measure daily targets (dia inch per day) for supervisors and welders.
- Ensure that required welding equipment, cables, machines, and ovens are available at site to perform the task.
- Ensure all welding equipment working condition is satisfactory; identify and return any faulty equipment that may hamper work performance.
- Provide welding expertise in the development of specific welding procedures or requirements related to piping and structural welding.
- Ensure optimum utilization of welding equipment in workshop and at site; monitor and report consumable wastage; maintain compliance with welding consumable handling procedures.
- Provide backup to foremen for managing and handling projects, including providing technical advice as required.
- Ensure qualified welders are available at site; provide guidance and direction to welders and monitor welder performance.
- Ensure that all work is carried out to the required quality in the best possible manner within the guidelines of industry’s best engineering practices.
- Provide feedback during retraining process on good welders (welders who produce less repair and can weld with both hands — left and right).
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce production, safety, and quality system policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience- Diploma / ITI with minimum 10 years of site experience in oil & gas fields welding.
- Experience in jacket, platform, and offshore structure welding.
- Proficient in various welding processes: GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, semi-automatic, and automation.
Specific Skills & Knowledge- Good knowledge of welding equipment and automation.
- Experience in site execution, problem-solving, and welder training.
- Ability to operate modern welding processes and equipment; capability to train welders and foremen.
