About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Fire Safety & Emergency Response to lead and manage fire prevention systems, emergency response protocols, and safety compliance across Q-Chem, RLOC, and RLP facilities in Qatar.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of fire protection, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance. You will be leading a team of professionals and playing a key role in safeguarding human life and company assets against fire-related risks.
Key Responsibilities
- - Develop and implement fire safety strategies, policies, and emergency response procedures.
- - Conduct design reviews of fixed fire protection systems and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- - Lead and coordinate emergency response teams during incidents to minimize risk and damage.
- - Ensure compliance with local and international fire safety regulations and certifications.
- - Oversee regular inspection, testing, and maintenance of firefighting equipment and PPE using SAP-based systems.
- - Manage hazard identification, incident investigations, and internal audits.
- - Prepare risk assessments and mitigation plans for new and ongoing projects.
- - Deliver safety trainings and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
- - Collaborate with Production, Process Safety, Regulatory Authorities, and Contractors.
- - Contribute to budget preparation, performance reporting, and organizational structure optimization.
Qualifications and Experience - - Bachelor's Degree in Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- - Master's Degree in Fire Safety, Risk Management, or similar discipline is preferred.
- - Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 4 years in supervisory or management roles.
- - Experience in Petrochemicals is an advantage.
Essential Certifications: - - SFFMA Advanced Firefighter / IFSAC Firefighter II / TCFP Firefighter II
- - NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level II
- - Incident Command Qualified (NIMS 100, 200, 400 or 700)
- - Emergency Medical Technician (Basic/Intermediate/Paramedic)
- - NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification
Language Requirements: - - English - Proficient
- - Arabic - Working knowledge (preferred)
