Technical Competence and Skills Required:
- Minimum 7 years of extensive experience in supervising Industrial Quality Control lab in PVC Manufacturing unit
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of instrument operation, calibration, and maintenance for testing of PVC resin including but not limited to:
- Viscosity - K Value
- Particle size distribution
- Thermal Stabilization
- Whiteness and Yellowness of resin
- % Volatility
- Bulk Density
- Contamination-Dark resin counts
- Fish Eyes test
- RVCM
- Plasticizer absorption/Porosity
- Pourability
- Volume resistivity
- Good Knowledge on the process of classification of PVC Grades based on specification & properties
- Extensive Knowledge and experience in modern analytical equipment used in PVC QC Labs including but not limited to:
- Viscometer
- GC-Headspace
- Laser particle size
- TOC
- Spectroscopy
- Titration systems
- Halogen Moisture analysers
- Environmental testing systems
- Density meter
- Colorimeter
- Calibration of analytical instruments & Portable analysers
- Knowledge of GLP, Chemical safety, lab safety & Emergency response
- Maintaining and record keeping of traceability and validity of solutions & standards
- Good knowledge on the chemical process & testing of Raw material, monomer grade Vinyl Chloride, in-process samples, utilities, wastewater & final product analysis and certificates
- OOS results and reporting
- Good Communication skills and capable of interacting with multi-disciplines internally within the organization and external sources
- Good decision-making skills in both technical and financial areas
- Excellent supervisory skills and capable of leading a team of chemists and train & motivate the team to achieve company objectives on technical, quality, health, safety and security targets and goals
- Excellent working knowledge of database such as SAP/LIMS - data entry, data history, worklist, and reports
- Handling of compressed gas cylinders, calibration gas cylinders and regulators
- Knowledge of international standards- (ASTM, ISO, EPA), ISO 17025 and IMS (Quality, HSE, RC)
