POSITION SPECIFICATION

Formal Education/Qualifications Required:

Diploma graduates: At least 5 years operational experience as panel Operator in the  petrochemical or chemical  Industry, preferably with exposure in similar plants. Proficiency on 75 % of processes in a plant.

Level & Type of Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

Function Specific: 

Provide on-going support to Day-to-day routine operation in a specific area of operation, but in a flexible manner across multiple

Production processes to ensure uninterrupted production, safe operation of the plant and all operation objectives are met efficiently.

Skills Required:

• Monomer plant trouble shooting.

• Systematic execution of operating procedures.

• Knowledge of industrial safety and housekeeping.

• Written and Spoken English

• PC literacy

Business/Industry Specific:

• Support EC operation team on day-to-day routine, start-up/shutdown/turnaround, and plant safety activity.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks for which this position is responsible and deliverables for which they are accountable.

1. Day to day routine Operation activity.

2. Monitor, Adjust, control and optimise plant parameters.

3. Field routine/non routine reading and taking samples.

4. Carry out checks for operation of the equipment to activate maintenance

5. Prepare process equipment, vessels, lines and systems as per established procedure prior to start up, shutdown to safely and effectively carry out any maintenance activity

6. Perform and support plant start-up and shutdown activity.

7. Identify, report and assess plant operating problems and issue.

8. Troubleshooting and support for issues in plant.

9. Take appropriate action to maintain the workplace clean and tidy

10. Following, maintaining, and updating operation documentation (reading sheet, shift handover, SOP)

13. Able to deliver training for Operation in his area of experience.
